Excellent stay overall

The breakfast had lots of choice, which i appreciated. My room was spacious and quiet, with a great view of the lake. The pool area was lovely. I was very grateful for the relaxing atmosphere and clean facilities.
The hotel supplied a fan, though it provided no real relief as there was no air conditioning. The ironing board was also broken, so i couldn't use it. I think this should be checked before guests arrive.

The suite was very spacious and clean, fantastic. It had lots of coffee etc, perfect after a long drive, so i felt grateful. The main bed was very comfy.

The leisure center was well provisioned with modern equipment. The pool was lovely with half sectioned off for lengths swimming. I am grateful for this detail. I believe it enhanced my stay.

The food in the restaurant is top quality for both the evening meal and breakfast. Dinner in the beautiful panelled dining room was rather special. I am grateful for the friendly staff and efficient service.

The staff were friendly. I appreciated this.
I found the room lighting quite dim. This made it difficult to read in the evenings. ONE of the bedside lamps wasn't working. the television remote had a faulty button. IT was a challenge to navigate the channels.

the breakfast was acceptable but not the best, i think.
the gym was being refurbished and no one told us this when we checked in. we had booked hoping to use these facilities, i was very disappointed when we were told we couldn't. that's bad.

The staff was friendly at reception and at breakfast. A hot tub, a sauna, a steam room and a pool provided relaxation. Breakfast offered sausage and bacon of great quality meat. The building had castle looks from the outside it was so beautiful.

the staff were friendly. the grounds were also well kept.
i found cobwebs and spiders in the corridor outside my room. the ceiling also had a huge crack, indicating leaks. i did not complain but expected more from a hotel of this supposed caliber.
